Can a student from the University of the Witwatersrand also apply?
Unfortunately, we only select students from institutions with which we having existing partnerships. We hope to expand in the future.
How come students from other South African Universities are excluded?
We only select students from institutions that we have existing partnerships with and unfortunately, due to the limited resources we steward we have to be careful not to expand beyond what we can support!
I am a student at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University the old MEDUNSA. How can I find expression?
Unfortunately, we only select students from institutions with whom we have existing partnerships. There are many other opportunities for development, you may contact Shannon Bernhardt, the SAWIP Program Director, for more information on shannon@nullsawip.org
Why is it UFS students are not allowed to attend?I see our former SRC president William Clayton on the alumni page.
William Clayton applied as a student of Stellenbosch University, where he was doing postgraduate studies.
The are two statements which seem to contradict, may you please clarify if some universities are excluded.
‘At this time, only students currently studying at the University of Cape Town, the University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch University or the University of Pretoria may apply.’

Dear Mervyn
Thanks for the inquiry. To confirm the universities of Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Stellenbosch and the Western Cape are our partner institutions and applicants are eligible from these institutions. We’ve only recently changed our partnerships, thank you for spotting this.
