“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.”

I have been challenged by my reality this week. About a year ago, as always, I found myself in dreamland, dreaming about what may seem impossible, far to reach and out of my league. Months later, I find myself living in the reality of my dreams…

We have gotten so used to living in our fears and failures, adapting to those realities and even trying to find happiness and joy in them. We have found means and ways to be “okay” with going through tough times. Yes, for they are there to mold and make us stronger. They are there to awaken the David in us, they are there to build our characters. Hard as it is, we cherish them, we feel the pain, the shame and eventually our tears, they become nourishing water for the seeds planted by our sorrows and torments.

What then happens when you have been praying for something your whole life, and suddenly, you wake up to realize your prayers have been granted? Will it find you ready? And if so, how do we prepare ourselves? Taking goliath factors like Imposture syndrome, self-doubts, and fears into consideration. I have been reflecting quite a lot lately and with regrets, I look back and realize I have lived some of my dreams, yet I was not cognizant of my reality at the time. I guess it is only sad to realize at a later stage that the train I had just gotten off was my dream reality train.

Next time when you pray and wish for something, “Be careful of what you wish for because you might just get”.

We tend to think of this statement in a negative manner, of not doing something because it might just come to bite us. But I challenge you to start looking into the positive side of it. Before you conceive a dream the next time you do, position yourself in that reality and ponder if you would really make it through the reality of it, if you are willing to take the consequences and responsibilities that come with it.

Shared feelings…

I am in the process of learning to live in the reality of my dreams, it’s a challenge because with more come responsibilities, but man, it feels so good!
