I have been officially appointed to the Khulisa Social Solutions board and the completed forms are being processed. I will be attending my first board meeting in the middle of November, which will be accompanied by an induction session about 2 days after or before the board meeting itself.
What does the appointment to the board mean to me? First of all I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a group of really passionate and driven people who are fired up to make a difference. I met a few of the board members and I just could not believe how motivated they are. For me personally, I am looking forward to being able to making a contribution towards the empowerment of people who are otherwise generally left unattended. I look forward to participating in more than just the board, but to form part of some of the programmes they have where possible. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and vibrant entity that wants to remain at the forefront of development through real empowerment. |
