The South Africa-Washington International Program is helping to inspire, prepare and support South African youth to lead a sustainable democracy with a peaceful and prosperous future for all its citizens.

Johan Broekhuysen

Mr. Broekhuysen is currently Vice President & Corporate Controller at Lumos Networks [NASDAQ: LMOS], a fiber-based service provider in the Mid-Atlantic region that provides leading-edge data, broadband, voice and IP services over an expanding fiber optic network. Prior to joining Lumos Networks, he had been with Globallogic Inc., a privately held software research and development company, where he started in July 2008 as Corporate Controller, and was ultimately promoted to Senior Vice President Finance, Corporate Controller and Assistant Treasurer. From March 2004 to June 2008, he was with AOL Time Warner where he held multiple positions, ultimately being promoted to Director of Financial Reporting and Consolidation. Prior to AOL Mr. Broekhuysen served in a number of accounting and financial roles at Norsk Hydro ASA, Metrocall Inc., Qwest Telecommunications, and Unilever PLC. Mr. Broekhuysen is a graduate of the University of Stellenbosch and a licensed CPA. He has also served on a number of community and law enforcement partnership boards, and in suburban redevelopment advisory roles in Northern Virginia.
