Kim Williams holds a Bachelors of Arts and a Master degree in Religious Traditions from the University of Cape Town, followed by a Management Diploma in HIV/AIDS from Stellenbosch University. Her studies have provided her with an understanding of the influence of religion on SA’s history, culture, gender relations, and HIV/AIDS.
Kim previously worked at Global Development for Peace and Leadership as the program’s co- ordinator for the Emerging Leadership and Exchange Programmes. Her entry into the non-profit world started in 2006 when she was selected as the first participant for the Young Professional South-South Exchange to represent the Desmond Tutu Emerging Leadership Exchange, sponsored by Fredskorpset Norway. Kim spent one year studying and working in the Philippines as a researcher on various peace communication and environmental projects. While there, she spent 11 months at the Environmental Broadcasting Corporation, a non-profit focused on sustainable development in Southeast Asia.
Kim has previously worked at Rosebank College – Cape Town, African Religious Health Assets Program (ARHAP) and the Research Institute on Christianity and Society in Africa (RICSA). |
