Real world experience provided through six week work exposure in prestigious environments in Washington, DC.

 

The South Africa-Washington International Program is helping to inspire, prepare and support South African youth to lead a sustainable democracy with a peaceful and prosperous future for all its citizens.

Ms. Zukiswa Mqolomba

Ms. Zuki Mqolomba holds two Masters degrees: a MSocSc from the University of Cape Town and an MA in Poverty and Development from the University of Sussex.

During her university career she served as SRC President (UCT) and in various other leadership and student activist positions in which she represented vulnerable and marginalized sectors of the student body.

She is currently an MLP Fellow at McKinsey & Company.

Her previous work has included research assistant positions within her sphere of interest and that of Assistant Director (Research, Policy and Planning) in the Department of Labour.

She is a co-founder and strategist of IFADev (International Forum for Africa's Development); a think tank of young African intellectuals in the Diaspora designed to provide new thinking on 21st century development paradigms.

Zuki has actively participated in consultative programs of the United Nations (i.e. UNESCO), NATO, the African Union Commission (AU), NEPAD, the Pan African Youth Union, the Southern African Youth Movement, as well as the National Young Women’s Network (SA). She has participated as a facilitator in a Model United Nations in the Czech Republic taking a leadership role in guiding cross-country/foreign relations amongst youth.

Zuki has an affinity for thought leadership and has published a number of thought provoking articles in The Thinker and the Mail &Guardian’s Thoughtleader on a number of development questions facing Africa.
