Petrus van Niekerk |
![]() Mr Petrus van Niekerk was born in Bellville, South Africa. He holds a Bcomm (Management Sciences) and BcommHons qualification in Public and Development Management from Stellenbosch University. He is currently completing a Master in Public Administration/Management (MPA) at the Stellenbosch University School of Public Leadership. He is also a graduate and Alumnus of the South Africa Washington International Program (SAWIP) and has been actively involved in its alumni affairs post-graduation from the program.
He has a steadfast intention to lead through service, with a particular interest in building efficient and accountable institutions in the public and development sector. He has been involved in a range of international academic exchanges related to anti-corruption, building competent states through evidence-based governance and public governance in times of economic uncertainty.
Petrus is currently working as project manager for the Security Institute of Governance and Leadership in Africa (SIGLA), an institution which is part of the HOPE Project of Stellenbosch University which seeks to promote justice, peace, safety and security in Africa.
Petrus loves the African outdoors and expressed this through hiking, mountain biking and “road- tripping” through Southern Africa. |
