Reitumetse Benedict holds BA (Philosophy and Language) and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. During his time at the University of Cape Town, Reitumetse Benedict quickly distinguished himself as a capable and dedicated student leader. He served on a number of student and university bodies including being president of the Head Students’ Council, co-chairperson of the Residences’ Forum, chairperson of the Subwardens' Association, vice president of the Law Students' Council, treasurer of the Black Law Students’ Forum, a two time member of Student Parliament, the Residences Co-coordinator on the Students` Representative Council, a member of the Residences Executive Committee, a member of the University Transformation Committee and a member of the Law Faculty Board. Reitumetse Benedict was recognised for his unwavering commitment to student leadership and service when he secured a nomination as a proposed participant in the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Programme. He is a 2007 alumnus of the South African Washington International Programme.
Reitumetse Benedict currently provides mergers and acquisitions and general commercial law advice at Canadian headquartered international law firm Fasken Martineau. He was previously employed by New York headquartered international law firm, Dewey & LeBoeuf. He is a non executive director of Fluorspar miner, Sallies Limited and its subsidiaries as well as United Kingdom incorporated Afspar Limited. |
