SAWIP Patron Dr Mamphela Ramphele Honoured

His Excellency Mr Jacques Lapouge and Dr. Mamphela Ramphele

The South Africa-Washington International Program was very proud to receive news of our patron Dr Mamphela Ramphele being appointed Officer in the Legion of Honour. The award was made on behalf of the French President by the Ambassador of France to South Africa, Mr Jacques Lapouge on the 28th February 2012, in Cape Town.

The great work that our patron continues to do around the world and of course for her country does not go unnoticed. This accolade has been bestowed upon some of history's great and good and it is fitting that the French Republic has placed her in that calibre of leader.

Dr. Manphela Ramphele

We congratulate our patron and wish her well as she continues tackling some of the many issues that face our country and indeed the world with the dignity and determination that she has always displayed.
