SAWIP inspires, develops and supports annual teams of interns and its whole alumni body to bring about community development through social projects amongst the most disadvantaged and marginalised South Africans.

APPLICATION TO SAWIP 2015

Applications for 2015 will be open from 19 January to 16 February 2015. Please do check back here for updates on the 2015 program.

Here are some facts to keep in mind...

  • Applications for 2015 will open on the 19th January 2015 and remain open until midnight on the 16th February 2015
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is submitted completely, correctly, succinctly and in a timely manner.
  • As you will discover, the application form is not brief and requires a considerable amount of work. We recommend that you do not leave it to the last minute.
You will find that the Application Instruction Document 2015 explains the application form and all the important information that you need. Be sure to read it in full BEFORE you fill in the application. This document requires Adobe Reader.

You will receive an on screen notification to indicate that your application has been accepted once you have submitted it. If you don't receive that confirmation, please email us a query to make sure. Sometimes, there are technical hitches.

Successful applicants will be notified if they have been selected for an interview by late February 2015.

Interviews will be conducted early March 2015 and you will hear if you made it to the selection camp by mid-March 2015.

The following are key criteria that evaluators will be looking for in each application:

  • Candidate demonstrates servant leadership qualities
  • Candidate demonstrates a commitment to service
  • Candidate demonstrates a commitment to South Africa
  • Candidate demonstrates attention to their academic success
  • Candidate shows commitment to the mission, vision and values of SAWIP

We will select a minimum of 3 candidates from each university.
